What we do

Our Wound Clinic is run by our Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), who is uniquely qualified to care for complex and hard to heal wounds. This includes treatment, advise and support for chronic/non-healing wounds. Without proper support, non-healing wounds can easily become infected and lead to potentially life-threatening medical conditions.

How to access this clinic

You will need a referral letter from your GP, medical specialist or you can self-refer to access this service – ERH Wound Clinic Self Referral Form (DOC).

Your doctor will need to fax or send your referral electronically or you can drop the referral into the clinic. When your referral is received it will be reviewed by the consulting team and categorised based on clinical urgency.

You will then be notified of your clinical urgency category and expected wait time for your appointment. The demand on specialist clinics is high. Consequently, waiting times for some specialties can be quite lengthy.

While every attempt will be made to provide you with the earliest possible appointment, the most urgent patients are given priority
