Telehealth Information
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is a video call appointment with your healthcare provider.
You can attend your appointment via video call from any location, such as your home, work or your GPs clinic.
Why use Telehealth?
Telehealth is:
- Easy to use – you can access it via any smart phone, tablet device, or computer with a camera
- Safe and secure – no patient data is retained in the Healthdirect platform
- Quick – you don’t need to travel to get to your appointment, saving time and money
Telehealth video calls allow you and your healthcare provider see each other without you needing to travel to the hospital.
Who can use Telehealth?
Your health care professional or team will decide if Telehealth is safe and clinically suitable for you. For example, Telehealth may not be appropriate if you need a physical examination.
Sometimes, just like a face-to-face appointment, Telehealth appointments can run behind schedule. We appreciate your patience. If your appointment is 30 minutes late, please call the number provided on your appointment letter.
Let us know if you are interested in being considered for Telehealth appointments.
