Planned Surgery Unit
All Planned (Elective) Surgery is managed by our Planned Surgery Unit by following the Victorian Planned Surgery Access Policy.
This policy guides our practice to ensure all patients are treated in turn, regardless of health insurance status, and receive their surgery within clinically recommended time frames.

Patient forms and other information
You will receive paper registration and checklist forms from your surgeon. Alternatively, you can complete these forms electronically and email to the address above.
Any paper forms can be dropped off at ERH Main Reception – 226 Service St entry.

Pre-Op Clinic
Patients who need to stay in hospital one or more nights after their surgery, and patients with pre-existing medical conditions (eg. increased age, diabetes, heart conditions) may need to attend a Pre-Op Clinic appointment.
Our team will be in contact to arrange an appointment in the weeks prior to your scheduled operation.
Pre-anaesthetic clinic
Patients who are having more complex surgery, and those with increased anaesthetic risk (due to pre-existing medical conditions), may need to attend our pre-anaesthetic clinic.
Our team will be in contact to arrange a suitable date and time prior to your scheduled operation.
We will attempt to coincide this appointment with a pre-op clinic appointment where possible.
Day Surgery Unit
All patient having surgery will be admitted via our Day Surgery Unit, including those who will stay in hospital overnight.
