In 2008 Leonie and a few girlfriends hatched a plan to create a charity that would provide extra care and financial support to those in our community living with cancer, so was the Girls Night Out committee born in Echuca Moama, and has since raised over $405,000 to the ERH Oncology Supportive Care fund.
Personally for Leonie, she set out on this passage to help heal her own scars at losing her father to prostate cancer when she was just 23 years of age. He was 45 years old when he received the news that he had just 12 months to live.
Leonie joined our Cancer and Wellness Centre Ambassador program in 2020 to help us launch the project and create a connection with the Girls Night Out committee who continue to support Echuca Regional Health and our Oncology Supportive Care fund. Leonie also owns local copywriting agency The Splendid Word, is a mother of 2 boys, and has a wonderful local network connection in Echuca Moama
