Services

The Population Health team at ERH provide a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of a range of primary prevention initiatives, services and programs that address the health needs of the community including:

  • Primary prevention and health education in workplaces, early years and school settings
  • Primary prevention strategies with community
  • Screening services

Diabetes Education

The Diabetes Education service provides a clinic for the ongoing monitoring and management of people with newly diagnosed and existing Diabetes. Services include initial education for clients newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance. The service provides expertise, education and support to the staff and patients of Echuca Regional Health and outreach to Lockington Bush Nursing Centre. Women’s Health

Women’s health clinics offer advice and education for women including sexual and reproductive health, breast care and contraception. The women’s health nurse is a registered cervical screening provider and provides cervical screening clinics to Echuca and Lockington. The Well Women’s Nurse also provides personal development sessions to schools and workplaces, as well as women’s health education to staff and relevant community groups. Primary Prevention & Health Promotion

Primary prevention interventions are delivered as per the Integrated Health Promotion (IHP) Plan and reported to the Department of Health & Human Services. The following priority areas guide program delivery & strategies for 2017-2021;

  • Family Violence and Gender Equality
  • Healthy Lifestyles – Healthy Eating, Active Living

ERH prevention work is also aligned with strategies of and delivered in partnership  with the Healthier Campaspe, Campaspe Family Violence Action Group and the Healthy Heart of Victoria project.

ERH Population Health team is responsible for the delivery of the state wide early years oral health promotion program, Smiles4Miles for the Campaspe region and the Diabetes Victoria Life! Program.

Fees

In accordance with the Department of Human Services Policy, Charges for Women’s Health & Diabetes Education consultations for community clients are as per the HACC schedule of fees & are subject to increase annually.
