Volunteer Opportunities Currently Available

Several volunteer opportunities are currently available at ERH.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist in:

Emergency Department & Medical Ward Volunteer

• Offer emotional and social support to patients through conversation.
• Assist clinical staff with restocking supplies and preparing cubicles between patients.
• Shifts:
  • Medical Wards: 3 hours, Morning or afternoon, Monday to Friday.
  • Emergency Department: 3 hours, Morning or afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.

In-Patient Consumer Feedback – Acute Wards

• Chat with patients and help gather feedback about their hospital experience to support service improvement.
• Record patient responses using an online survey tool (SurveyMonkey) – training provided.
• Escalate any concerns or complaints to the Consumer Engagement team for follow-up.
• Flexible shifts available Monday to Friday across acute wards, contributing to approximately 30 patient interviews per month.
