Public Health Advice Update 11 September 2020

 

The Public Health Unit Bendigo (phuB) can confirm the person in Echuca identified as COVID-19 positive was a false positive test due to a rare laboratory error.

The phuB was notified on Thursday of a COVID-19 positive person in Echuca. That person was re-tested today, returning a negative result.

Close contacts of the person have all tested negative to COVID-19.

The person and those connected have all been cleared to return to the community by the phuB.

Echuca Regional Health operates a COVID-19 Screening Clinic at its hospital, seven days a week, from 9.30am – 6pm, access via the Emergency Department on Service Street.

Anyone with even the mildest of symptoms or concerns is encouraged to get tested.

Common symptoms include fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat, runny nose and loss of sense of smell or taste.​

Public Health Update 10 September 2020

The Public Health Unit Bendigo (phuB) can confirm a COVID-19 positive person in the Echuca community.

The source of the infection is still being investigated by the phuB and all close contacts of the person have been identified, tested and are in isolation awaiting their results.

The COVID-19 positive person is well and isolating at home.

The Loddon Mallee Rapid Response Testing Team will provide COVID-19 testing at Echuca Regional Health on September 11-12 from 10am – 4.30pm, access via the corner of Leichardt Street and Francis Street.

Anyone with even the mildest of symptoms or concerns is encouraged to get tested.
