The Geriatrician Clinic provides specialist assessment and management of cognitive disorders, including dementia and its behavioural and psychological symptoms. Services include comprehensive geriatric assessment, frailty management, falls prevention, and the promotion of preventative health strategies for older adults

You will need a referral letter from your GP, Nurse Practitioner or medical specialist to access this service.

All referrals must include medications list and recent test results, including any brain imaging within the last 12 months.

Your doctor will need to fax, or send your referral electronically, or you can bring it into the clinic. When your referral is received it will be reviewed by the consulting team and categorised based on clinical urgency.

You will then be notified of your clinical urgency category and expected wait time for your appointment.

The demand on the Geriatrician Clinic is high, consequently, waiting times for this clinic can be quite lengthy.

While every attempt will be made to provide you with the earliest possible appointment, the most urgent patients are given priority

• Your Medicare card
• A list of medications you are currently taking including herbal supplements and vitamins
• Any relevant test results or x-ray results
• Any relevant cards (Medicare, Health Care Card, Aged Pension, DVA)

Our Specialist Clinics is located in Echuca Regional Health, Building E, 25 Francis Street Echuca.

There is 2-hour parking on-street parking in Francis St and Leichardt St. Clearly signed disabled parking is also available.

A text message reminder will be sent to your mobile the day prior to your appointment.

The Geriatrician Clinic is a public clinic and no out-of-pocket fees apply for eligible patients.

Patients who are not eligible for Medicare or DVA-funded services will incur fees.
