Hand Hygiene: Keeping Germs at Bay
Hand hygiene is one of the most important ways to stop infections from spreading. At ERH, we encourage everyone – healthcare workers, patients, and visitors – to practise good hand hygiene. Washing your hands or using hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the hospital, before eating and after using the bathroom, can help keep everyone safe.
How You Can Help:
- Wash Your Hands: Use soap and water or hand sanitiser when you enter or leave the hospital.
- Follow Signs: Look out for hand hygiene signs throughout the hospital and follow their instructions.
- Ask for Help: If you can’t find a hand sanitiser station, ask a staff member.
