Is testing mandatory?
No. Testing is completely voluntary.
Is there a cost for the test?
No. The cost of the testing will be covered by the health service.
Will I come into contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus?
No. The testing clinic for community members without symptoms is in a separate location to the ED screening clinic as it is important that we do not put our staff or community at risk. The process for testing is also a little different.
Will I need to self-isolate after I have been tested?
No. Once tested, you will not be required to self-isolate while waiting for the test results.
Where will the clinic be located and how can I access the testing?
The entrance to the clinic can be accessed from the corner of Leichardt and Francis Street – large external signage will direct you to the clinic site.
Operating hours and what to do before you come.
The clinic will operate from 9:30am-1230pm then 1:30pm–5:00pm.
To assist in streamlining the testing process for staff, we ask that you
- Read the DHHS information sheet – Coronavirus (COVID 19) – getting tested when you do not have symptoms
- Call the clinic on 54 855 877 for best time to attend. You will be required to complete a consent form on arrival.
When will I know the result of my test?
The test results can take a few days to come through. Rest assured, you will be contacted by a member of our testing team and advised of the result of your test.
