Echuca Regional Health’s Falls prevention month is on for the month of November. This year we are helping people think about preventing falls at home as well as reducing functional decline while in hospital.
We would like people to reflect on their own falls risks at home, as well as falls risks that they might’ve observed about their older loved ones. Over the course of the month there will be a number of different falls risks covered. Offering strategies and ways to reduce the risk of falls and keeping our loved ones safe at home. Thanks to the Clinical Excellence Commission: NSW Falls Prevention Program for their resources.
Later in the month or towards early December we will be launching our own #endPJparalysis campaign. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more information. This is a worldwide campaign that promotes patients to get out of their PJs and get dressed in their day clothes while in hospital (where appropriate) to help prevent loss in mobility and strength by getting up and moving.
