Northern Rivers Graduate Nurse Program – Boort District Health Option

Program overview


This is a 52-week program commencing January 23rd 2023.

The program consists of 52 weeks at Boort District Health (BDH).

One position at 0.8 EFT (8 days per fortnight).

Experience gained at BDH includes Aged Care, Acute and exposure to Urgent Care Centre.

Exposure to other specialty areas can be gained by the option of Professional Development days at Echuca Regional Health.

The graduate program is designed to help the Graduate Nurse transition from student to Registered Nurse and to provide consolidation of nursing knowledge and skills whilst using a holistic approach to the delivery of nursing care.

Zoom facilitated or in person information sessions are offered from 11.00am-12.00pm on the following dates:

How to apply

Register with Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Allocation and Placement Service (APS)

List Northern Rivers Graduate Nurse Boort District Health Option as a preference.

Nominate 2 referees. Provide name, position, email and phone contact details of each referee.

Submit application directly to the Echuca Regional Health website and choose Northern Rivers Graduate Nurse Program Boort District Health Option.

This process is open from Monday June 6th to Friday July 8th 2022.

KSC1 Sound level of knowledge and skill relating to nursing care and the clinical environment appropriate to the position.

KSC2 Commitment to ongoing learning and the ability to accept constructive feedback and appropriate direction.

KSC3 Ability to set goals and objective and meet deadlines as required.

KSC4 Commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

KSC5 Commitment to completing all requirements of the graduate nurse program continuing professional development.

KSC 6 Knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, trends and research.

KSC7 Commitment to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

Curriculum Vitae: please include a list of dates and organisations where placements have been undertaken during Undergraduate Studies.

Academic Transcript: we understand that this will not yet be complete.

Police Check for 2022.

Working with Children Check.

Two Clinical Placement Reports:  We require the entire document preferably from an acute placement in final year. We understand that you may not have completed 2 final year placements so please forward a second-year placement report from an acute placement if needed.
