Echuca Regional Health Registered Nurse Graduate Program

Program Overview

This is a 52-week program commencing January 23rd2023

There are 16 positions at 0.8 EFT (8 days per fortnight).

Rotations are offered in Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, Aged Care, Renal Dialysis Unit, Medical Day Treatment Unit, Community Nursing, Perioperative Unit, Emergency Department and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

Three graduates will undertake rotations in Emergency, Aged Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

Three graduates will undertake rotations in Surgical Ward, Aged Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

Other graduates will undertake 2 rotations consisting of a ward-based environment and a specialty area.

The graduate program is designed to help the Graduate Nurse transition from student to Registered Nurse and to provide consolidation of knowledge and skills whilst using a holistic approach to the delivery of nursing care.

How to apply

Register with Post Graduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Allocation and Placement Service (APS).

List Echuca Regional Health Graduate Nurse Program as a preference.

Nominate 2 referees. Provide name, position, email and phone contact details of each referee.

Submit application via the Echuca Regional Health Website and choose Echuca Regional Health Graduate Nurse Program.

This process is open from Monday June 6th to Friday July 8th 2022.

Key Selection Criteria

KSC1 Sound level of knowledge and skill relating to nursing care and the clinical environment appropriate to the position.

KSC2 Commitment to ongoing learning and the ability to accept constructive feedback and appropriate direction.

KSC3 Ability to set goals and objective and meet deadlines as required.

KSC4 Commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

KSC5 Commitment to completing all requirements of the graduate nurse program continuing professional development.

KSC 6 Knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, trends and research.

KSC7 Commitment to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

Two Clinical Placement Reports:  We require the entire document preferably from an acute placement in final year. We understand that you may not have completed 2 final year placements so please forward a second-year placement report from an acute placement if needed.
