Services

The Medical Unit is a 26 bed unit:

  • 20 Medical beds
  • 3 Medical high acuity beds
  • 3 High Dependency beds

General Medical

There are a wide variety of simple and complex medical conditions that we are able to manage on our Medical Unit. These include; cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, renal, diabetes, blood disorders, musculoskeletal, end of life care and other illnesses.

High Dependency Unit

The High Dependency Unit (HDU) provides care to patients who require closer observation. This may include patients who have undergone surgery, require cardiac monitoring or non-invasive respiratory support. Video conferencing to Bendigo Health – ICU, is available to assist in the ongoing management of complex conditions.

Our Team

Our dedicated team always try to make sure that every person staying with us is as comfortable as possible and receives the highest quality care. During their stay, we encourage patients to talk freely about their likes and dislikes, and to ask questions about the care they are receiving.  We focus on a collaborative approach to meeting individual health care needs.  We are able to refer to multiple services including Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Dietetics, Speech therapy, Diabetes, Aged Care Assessment Service, home support services. We are here to help you.

In our work environment we expect everyone including patients, family, visitor and staff are treated with respect and dignity.

Tips for your stay

Medications:

We advise that patients bring in their current medications and scripts

Clothing and Toiletries:

Patients need to bring in their clothing any toiletries that they may need during their stay.

Valuables:

Echuca Regional Health accepts no responsibility for valuables. Please have a family member take such items home or ask a staff member to have them locked up securely.

Violence:

Echuca Regional Health does not tolerate violence, physical or verbal aggression, towards any person including staff. No acts of violence, swearing, threats or verbal abuse towards another patient, relative, visitor or staff member will not be tolerated. If this occurs, security or police will be called.

Fees

Clients may elect to use their private health insurance.
